User – SDA Installation

NOTE: if you are installing SalesDoc Architect on a multi-user machine where you will also be installing Architect Manager, then please follow the “Installing SalesDoc Architect Manager” instructions; you do not need to install the end user version of SDA.

To Install SalesDoc Architect (End User):

  • Download and run both h Setup_SDA_End_User.exe AND Setup_SDA_Cloud. Carefully read the CorsPro Software License Agreement and click “I Accept” if you agree to the terms.  Enter your name as the “User Name” (first name and last name) and your company’s name for “Organization”. Please note that these items will be used as the default contact and company names on customer outputs that are generated by SalesDoc Architect.
  • Open SalesDoc Architect. If you are presented with a dialog box asking if you want to enable macros, you should answer “Yes” so that you can access SalesDoc Architect’s functions. You should also click the “Always trust macros from this source” checkbox. Cors Productivity Solutions is digitally certified as a commercial software publisher by Thawte, a respected code certification authority. The program code contained within SalesDoc Architect contains an encrypted digital ID that can be tied back to this certification, ensuring that you have received unaltered, original program code directly from CorsPro.
  • When prompted, enter your email address and password to register as an SDA user, then click OK. You can obtain your password via email from your administrator.
  • When prompted, allow SalesDoc Architect to download content updates for your company.

If you are an additional user who is being added to a machine that hosts multiple SalesDoc Architect users, you can add yourself to that machine by logging into Windows as the new user and opening up the SalesDoc Architect application; you do not need to follow the steps listed above.  However, you will be prompted to register as an SDA user and also to fill in the user information that will be used as contact information on proposals and other outputs.

For security purposes you should install SDA to a directory other than Program Files; we recommend installing it to c:\CorsPro.  On a single-user machine, the user should have full admin rights to the location where SalesDoc Architect is installed so that program and data updates can be applied properly.  On a multi-user machine, all users  MUST have persistent READ/WRITE/EXECUTE permissions to the User and PQuote\Data folders.

In addition, each user (whether on a single or multi user machine) should have full admin rights to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\CorsPro in the Windows Registry.  Finally, you should allow full security rights to PQCheck.exe (in the PQuote folder) to reach out to https://apps.corspro.com via (https) software port 44303 so that SalesDoc Architect is able to update your license as necessary.

Uninstalling SalesDoc Architect

You can uninstall SalesDoc Architect as follows:

  • Click Start, then Programs, then CorsPro, then run the uninstall options.
  • Delete the CorsPro folder from your installation location (usually “c:\CorsPro”).
  • To remove ALL elements…
    • Remove PQMon.xla from Excel’s XLSTART folder (generally found under the c:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel folder).
    • Remove Word2PQ.dot from Word’s STARTUP folder  (generally found under the c:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Word  folder).
    • Delete HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\VB and VBA Program Settings\CorsPro from the Windows registry.

Architect Manager Installation

To install Architect Manager:

Please note that these items will be used as the default contact and company names on customer outputs that are generated by SalesDoc Architect.
  • Open SalesDoc Architect (not Architect Manager). Installing Architect Manager on a Multi-User Machine

When installing SalesDoc Architect on a multi-user machine such as a terminal server…

  • Since all users will be able to see the Architect Manager application, you should require a password to open it.  To do so, open Architect Manager and go to File, Setup, Set passwords and set your “client maintenance” password, then click “Require password when opening Manager”.
  • Provide all users with READ/WRITE/EXECUTE permissions to the User and PQuote\Data folders.
  • Provide users who access the Architect Manager application with READ/WRITE/EXECUTE permissions to the ENTIRE c:\CorsPro folder structure so that they can download/install program updates from CorsPro.
  • You will NOT need to install SDA for each user.  When users open up SalesDoc Architect for the first time, they’ll be prompted to register as an SDA user and also to fill in the user information that will be used as contact information on proposals and other outputs.
