SDA merges the advantages of Excel-based configurators and database-based pricing tools into an integrated solution that not only prices and configures, but also generates Microsoft Word-based proposals and statements of work based on the configured solution with just a couple of extra mouse clicks.
The unique architecture of SDA enables companies to eliminate the disadvantages of the other currently available solutions to create a truly integrated solution that draws on the “best of” the various tools (Excel, Word, relational database) for a solution that is not only efficient and effective for end users to use, but is easy to maintain as well.
SDA Manager enables customization to the SDA application so that it can meet the specific needs of the business, enabling the administrator to:
It’s easy to customize SDA to have an application that is ready for users to begin using within a couple of hours. We recommend following our 5-step setup process to begin reaping the benefits of SDA as soon as possible. Then, as the company uses SDA, continue to fine-tune and customize the solution, taking advantage of SDA’s deep functionality and set of capabilities.
Traditionally, most companies have relied on Excel spreadsheets for their pricing and configuration solutions. Excel-based solutions enable companies to easily create and maintain their own configuration logic using Excel’s well-known formulas and programming tools. However, Excel lacks the power of a relational database, making it difficult to maintain pricing and other data associated with the configured products and services.
Other companies have invested in database-based pricing and configuration solutions. Although well-suited for maintaining the data associated with pricing, these solutions make it difficult for companies to create and maintain configuration logic, requiring IT-based advanced programmers to maintain configuration logic instead of enabling the subject-matter experts (such as sales engineers) to maintain configuration logic simply by using Excel’s built-in formulas.
Except for very expensive solutions that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars, both the Excel-based and database-based solutions have lacked the ability to generate “configuration-based” proposals and other sales documents, meaning that once the user has defined the solution configuration, the proposal generator will “know” which sections should be included in the proposal or statement of work.
SalesDoc Architect merges the advantages of Excel-based configurators and database-based pricing tools into an integrated solution that not only prices and configures, but also generates Microsoft Word-based proposals and statements of work based on the configured solution with just a couple of extra mouse clicks. The architecture of SalesDoc Architect enables companies to eliminate the disadvantages of the other currently-available solutions to create a truly integrated solution that draws on the “best of” the various tools (Excel, Word, relational database).
